Peace Mass Transit bus breaks down, passengers fund repairs

A passenger on a Peace Mass Transit bus has criticized the popular Nigerian transport company after their vehicle reportedly broke down in the middle of a journey from Abuja to Benue State.

According to the passenger’s account, shared on social media, the bus experienced mechanical issues partway through the trip, forcing passengers to wait for repairs.

Adding to the frustration, the passenger claims that Peace Mass Transit staff asked the travellers on board to contribute one thousand naira each to funds toward the purchase of spare parts needed to get the vehicle moving again.

This unexpected request has sparked a wave of backlash online, with users expressing disappointment over what they described as unprofessional service and inadequate vehicle maintenance practices.

The Transport company has yet to release an official statement addressing the incident, but the situation has intensified calls for better regulation and accountability in Nigeria’s inter-state transport sector.
