A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Delta State Gubernatorial aspirant, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has urged former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello to surrender to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for investigation.

Onuesoke’s call comes following Bello’s arrest.

Speaking at Asaba International Airport, Onuesoke urged Bello to follow the example of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose and other prominent figures who cooperated with EFCC investigations.

He criticized the police officers who obstructed EFCC operatives from arresting Bello at his Abuja residence and called for their withdrawal and prosecution for obstructing justice.

The incident occurred when EFCC officials attempted to arrest Bello over alleged corruption.

Onuesoke stated, “Why is he running? He should submit himself for investigation if his cupboard is so clean.

“The attempt to delay is not the best in this situation.

“He should have copied people like former Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose who honoured the EFCC invitation as soon as he left the government.

“It is a very simple thing. You have been invited by EFCC, you should go and explain yourself.

“He is not above the law. He is like any other Nigerian.”
