Paul Scholes Apologizes For Liverpool Blunder

Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes, has admitted that he was wrong about the credentials of Liverpool and his former club earlier this season. The admission comes ahead of the highly anticipated Premier League clash between the two rivals on Sunday at Anfield.

Speaking to Premier League Productions, Scholes said that he did not expect Manchester United to be ten points clear of Liverpool compared to their defeat at Anfield twelve months ago. The former England midfielder added that the two teams were miles apart last season.

Scholes also expressed his surprise at Liverpool’s performance this season, admitting that he thought the Reds had a great chance of winning the league this year. “I was actually on here thinking Liverpool have a great chance of winning the league this year. I was so wrong,” he said.

Liverpool have struggled to maintain their form this season, with injuries to key players and inconsistent performances affecting their title challenge. Meanwhile, Manchester United have been in impressive form, sitting second in the Premier League table behind rivals Manchester City.

The two teams faced off on Sunday in what was a crucial game for both sides. Liverpool at the moment will be looking to close the gap on the top four, while Manchester United will be hoping to keep pace with league leaders Arsenal and hopeful put pressure on second placed, Manchester City.
