Passenger Train Involved In Accident In Lagos [VIDEO]

A passenger train moving towards Ebute Meta from Iju derailed on Thursday at Agege area of Lagos.

The train according to eyewitnesses derailed around 7.15am as a result of faulty tracks which has been marked for repairs.

No life was lost in the incident but eye witnesses said some injured passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical attention although emergency officials who spoke to reporters said there were no injuries recorded.

Officials of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC, are currently evacuating the derailed coaches.
The emergency agencies and Nigeria Police and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, and NRC are on ground for the recovery operation. The development resulted in a heavy vehicular traffic in and around the Agege area.
