Over a thousand people dead as devastating earthquake hits Morocco (video)
A devastating earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 has hit central Morocco, causing a tragic death toll of at least 1,037 and numerous injuries.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located in the High Atlas Mountains, 71 kilometers (44 miles) southwest of Marrakesh, with a depth of 18.5 kilometers, as reported by the US Geological Survey.
This seismic event took place at 23:11 local time (22:11 GMT) on Friday, September 8, and was followed by a 4.9 magnitude aftershock just 19 minutes later, according to BBC news.
