Amid nationwide outrage over the recent hike in fuel prices, the Coalition for Energy Reforms and Good Governance Advocacy has slammed the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and demanded an immediate investigation into alleged corruption within the oil sector.
During a press conference in Abuja, the coalition’s convener, Yakubu Dauda, blasted NNPCL’s leadership, accusing them of failing to fulfill promises to revamp the country’s struggling petroleum sector.

With fuel prices skyrocketing and the nation’s economy under pressure, Dauda pointed fingers at NNPCL boss Mele Kyari for neglecting local refineries and perpetuating the nation’s dependency on imported fuel.
Dauda’s powerful call for a government-led audit to root out corruption and hold those responsible accountable has sparked renewed discussions about the future of Nigeria’s energy independence.
“Enough is enough,” Dauda declared, urging the government to break free from corrupt cabals and transform Nigeria into a net exporter of petroleum products. As public frustration mounts, the coalition’s strong words reflect growing discontent with the leadership of the nation’s oil sector.
