The Chairman, Osun State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Taiwo Adebayo Olodo, has charged the Ministry of Works and Transports to double its effort on road projects across the state.

The lawmaker gave this charge during the budget defence of the Ministry of Works and Transports at the state House of Assembly.

Taiwo Olodo in his observations noted that the ministry which is tasked with the responsibilities of maintaining and constructing roads across the state needed to double its effort on the provision of infrastructure to every part of the state.

While advising the Works Ministry to conclude all the ongoing road projects across the state in record time, he also advocated good and quality outputs.

In his response, the Works Commissioner, Oluremi Omowaiye promised that the ministry will do its best and no constituency in the state will be left out in terms of road projects as each town will benefit from road construction.

In his words, “Some projects are covered in the 2022 budget estimate. We are looking for synergy on our roads.”

Most of the roads in the state have been suffering one form of neglect or the other while the state government has made efforts to rehabilitate some township roads.
