Nollywood actress turned politician, Tonto Dikeh has made her feelings clear about the ongoing nationwide protests and judging from her comments, the celebrity did not mince words in criticizing the masses for taking to the streets.

As the nationwide protests erupt, the actress took to her social media handle to take a surprising stance, publicly declaring her support for President Bola Tinubu.

The actress shared an infograph on Instagram, highlighting what she sees as significant improvements under Tinubu’s leadership, including foreign reserves, minimum wage, forex backlog, oil production, and debt-to-revenue ratio.

Dikeh’s post read, “Statistics don’t lie: everyone is working to get this country to where we want it to be.” She also noted the persistent skepticism among Nigerians, stating, “One thing about Nigerians is that if they don’t like you, nothing you do will ever be good enough for them.”

Urging followers to “stay safe and make wise decisions,” Dikeh’s endorsement of Tinubu comes at a critical moment, adding a celebrity voice to the political discourse. As tensions rise, her support has sparked both praise and criticism, highlighting the deep divisions in public opinion.

“I hereby call for peaceful coexistence, peaceful protest, and dialogue. I also charge the Federal and State government to attend to the plights of Nigerians especially the youth.

“Nigeria belongs to all of us, there is no other Nigeria and we must work collectively to make Nigeria a better place.”
