Omawumi, Kaffy, TY Mix select Abuja finalists of GCGT competition

Five finalists have emerged from the Abuja regional contest of the seventh edition of the God’s Children Great Talent (GCGT).

The five finalists from Abuja region include Enoch, a 9-year-old gospel rapper, who captivated the hearts of judges and studio audience with a freestyle of his song ‘Halleluyah’.

Peter, the 8-year-old saxophonist who performed a medley of popular gospel songs, and Sophie, a spoken word performer.

Others are budding dancer, Emmanuel, who melted everyone’s heart with his effortless body movement during the regional finals and Joshua James, a teenage drummer whose delivery on the drum-set marveled the audience.

“We’re looking for a unique talent that will be nurtured into an export to represent greatness. There’s something that is true about these contestants. The talents we see on the show glorify God’s greatness,” TY Mix, one of the judges said.

Kaffy commended the contestants for a display of originality while Omawumi encouraged contestants to do more.

“There’s no such thing as ‘over do’. Give your best always.”

The five finalists will now head to the semi-finals in Lagos.

The seventh season of the competition, which is an initiative by the City of David parish of Redeemed Christian Church of God has prizes like N250million management deal, N10million cash and a brand new car for the winner.
