Olympique Marseille using PSG strategy to sign Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has become the gift that keeps on giving in the transfer window as rumors of his exit keeps gaining traction with every passing day.

Every of his move, his actions whether on pitch or off field are monitored and scrutinized by the media and pundits to create a narrative.

Ronaldo in it all cannot be faulted though as he has become a victim of his own accomplishments to the point he is now an unwitting media content creator for others to form topics on.

Of course, there is no denying the fact that he has a lot of fan base that also helps shape the narrative.

This though, according to reports is what Ligue 1 club is looking to bank on as they consider a move for the Portuguese and 5 time Ballon D’or winner.

They take a study into what their rival, Paris Saint Germain have done in the signing of Lionel Messi for its global image and branding.

This according to former Marseille player, Jean-Charles De Bono is what Olympique Marseille would be looking at as he confirmed the possibility of the Ligue 1 club going after him.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to play Champions League football, something Marseille could offer him, and should the shock move come to fruition, he could lineup with former Arsenal and Manchester United player, Alexis Sanchez.

According to De Bono, Marseille, who were last season’s Ligue 1 runners-up, have already conducted a study into the financial feasibility of a transfer for the 37-year-old hero.

“A study is being carried out to find out what Ronaldo could bring to the club financially,” he said, according to talkSPORT.

“This was also done by PSG at Messi.

“Olympique decided to study the impact Ronaldo is having on sponsors around the world to bring them to Marseille,” he added.
