Okada man killed, one injured in Lagos crash [PHOTOS]
On Wednesday, a motorcyclist, Lawal Musa, was tragically crushed to death in a crash involving two vehicles and a motorcycle at the Idiroko area of Maryland, Lagos State, TopNaija reports.
It was gathered that the accident, which occurred around 7am, involved a Bus Rapid Transit vehicle with number plate FST 185 XS, a Mazda car with number plate KJA 555 XY and a motorcycle.
We learnt that the bus driver lost control after driving on spilled pig feed and rammed into the car and motorcycle.
Our correspondent gathered that the 35-year-old motorcyclist died on the spot, while a yet-to-be-identified male sustained serious injury and was rushed to hospital.
Emergency responders, who attended to the accident, included officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Lagos State Ambulance Service, Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit and the police.
The LASEMA Public Relations Officer, Nosa Okubor, who confirmed the crash to our correspondent, stated that the remains of the deceased had been handed over to his family for burial.
He said, “Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, it was discovered that a BRT bus lost control while on motion as a result of spilled pig feed on the road and collided with a Mazda car and motorcycle. Unfortunately, the motorcycle rider lost his life at the scene of the accident, while an adult male, who sustained injuries, had been moved to hospital.
“The remains of the deceased victim were handed over to his family by the SEHMU in the presence of police officers from Anthony Division, while the BRT vehicle has been recovered off the road with the aid of the agency’s heavy-duty equipment.”
