Okada Ban: Violent protests leaves 3 dead in Ijora as Police/riders clash

The move by the Lagos State government t ban Okada/Tricycle riders from major roads in the state has led to violent protests in Ijora, a suburb of Lagos as policemen and motorcyclists faced off.
The ban which was made effective Feb 1, 2020 has left many Lagos commuters stranded.
An eyewitness said three persons were feared dead and that vehicles and property were being torched.
The riders came out en masse to protest the ban. In a bid to douse the rising tension, the police clashed with the angry riders who took advantage of the opportunity to vent out their frustration on the law enforcement agents.
The road exiting Apapa towards Nigerian Breweries is chaotic with tyres burning and commuters scampering to safety.
As expected Okada Riders & Keke Riders in Lagos have started protesting, they are Stoning Buses & Burning Tyres.
