Ogun police warn of ‘one-chance’ robbery gang on expressway
The Ogun State Police Command has issued a warning to the public about a notorious ‘one-chance‘ robbery gang operating along the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode-Mowe expressway.
The gang has been linked to several incidents, with the latest involving a victim who was forced at gunpoint to transfer N700,000 after boarding a vehicle at Kajola.
The alert was raised by the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, through a statement posted on her X.com account. Odutola highlighted the increasing number of complaints from residents and urged commuters to exercise caution.

She advised commuters to record their journeys and share the footage with the police if they feel uncertain about the vehicle they board. Additionally, traders and business owners were warned against carrying large sums of money while travelling on the expressway.
“The Ogun State Police Command has received numerous complaints about a notorious gang operating between Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, and Mowe. Commuters should document their trips and notify the police if they feel uneasy. We also urge traders and business owners not to carry large amounts of cash,” Odutola stated.
Police are currently investigating the incidents as they work to apprehend the culprits.
