Ogun state Assembly pays tribute to late deputy speaker
The Ogun State House of Assembly convened a special session on Wednesday to pay tribute to the late Adetokunbo Oshin, a former Deputy Speaker and member of the fifth and sixth sessions.
The lawmakers gathered at the state capital, Abeokuta, to eulogize the departed politician.
During the valedictory session, Speaker Oludaisi Elemide remembered Oshin as a paragon of integrity and a master of legislative affairs.
He extolled the late leader’s commitment to serving the state and his impact on the assembly’s history.

Fellow lawmakers also took turns to praise Oshin’s unwavering dedication, courage, and commitment to public service. They described him as a fearless and dogged leader who left an indelible mark on the state.
Mr Fasiu Bakene, a member of the fifth and sixth assembly, recalled Oshin’s unyielding passion for legislative excellence and his commitment to ensuring accountability in government. He praised Oshin for his ability to hold the government accountable and his dedication to upholding the values of the assembly.
Mrs Bolanle Oshin, the wife of the deceased, expressed her gratitude to the House of Assembly for honoring her late husband. She thanked the Ogun State Assembly for their kind words and condolences, which she said had brought her some solace in her time of grief.
The late Oshin represented Ijebu North 1 constituency during his tenure in the assembly. His passing has been mourned by many in the state, who have described him as a great leader and a true patriot.
