It was reported by Topnaija.NG that four teenagers were accused of killing and burning the head of the girlfriend to one of them for money rituals. But on Monday,  one of them has been discharged by an Ogun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Abeokuta.

The teenagers were arrested on January 28, 2022 at Oke-Aregba, Kugba, Abeokuta, for the murder of one Sofiat Oke-Owo. Their names are Balogun Mustakeem, Majekodunmi Soliudeen, Abdulgafa Lukman and Wariz Oladeinde. They had been remanded in the Oba Correctional Centre in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.

17-year-old Wariz Oladeinde was however discharged by Chief Magistrate I. O. Abudu, on legal advice received from the state Director of Public Prosecutions. He said there was no charge recorded against the 17-year-old lad as judgment was based  on the investigation by the police

The prosecution had alleged that the four teenagers conspired to kill Oke-Owo and the boys have been remanded in the correctional center since February 3, pending the legal advice from the DPP.

Further hearing of the charges against the three remaining teenagers was adjourned till April 22.
