Nvidia Overtakes Microsoft as Most Valuable Company

In a significant market shift, Nvidia overtakes Microsoft to become the world’s most valuable company, underscoring its pivotal role in the generative AI boom.

As of Tuesday’s close, Nvidia’s share price climbed to $135.58, up $4.60 from the previous day, pushing its market cap to $3.335 trillion.

Nvidia overtakes Microsoft’s $3.32 trillion valuation, Apple’s $3.29 trillion, and Google’s $2.17 trillion.

TopNija recalled that Nvidia’s remarkable growth follows a 10-for-1 stock split on June 6th, which lowered its share price but not its overall market value.

The company’s stock has soared by 160 per cent in 2024, having crossed the $2 trillion threshold in February.

Nvidia’s most recent earnings report in May revealed over $26 billion in revenue.

The company is poised to introduce its next-generation Blackwell GPU architecture later this year, featuring the highly anticipated B200 chip.

CEO Jensen Huang describes it as “the world’s most powerful chip,” with each unit priced between $30,000 and $40,000. Nvidia plans to continue its rapid innovation pace, releasing new AI chips annually.
