Nursing mother abducted in Kwara State found dead, ransom partially paid
The decomposing body of a nursing mother, Kehinde Ikeanabi Jibril, who was abducted by suspected kidnappers in Ago-Oja town, Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State, has been discovered.
According to reports, the community was thrown into mourning following the discovery of the corpse on Thursday after delivery of part of the ransom demanded.
The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N6m for her release and had directed the family to bring the money to Eiyekonrin town and later to Ogbomoso.
The latest part payment was allegedly delivered before the discovery of the nursing mother’s corpse in the early hours of Thursday in Ago-Oja axis.
Kehinde Jibril was abducted two days before the Eidel-fitr celebrations at her husband’s residence in Ago-Oja town. The kidnappers initially targeted her husband, who is a cattle dealer, but he was not at home, hence they abducted the wife and left her four-month-old child with the elder siblings.
Another victim abducted alongside Kehinde Ikeanabi, a student of Kwara State Polytechnic, Oriyomi Babatunde, was also injured during the abduction and later died in the hospital.
The community leader of Ago-Oja confirmed the discovery of the corpse and informed the press that the deceased had since been buried according to Islamic rites.
