The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC), Lagos command, has promised to ensure residents are safe during this year’s yuletide celebrations.

The commandant of the Corp’s Lagos command, Mr Eweko Okoro, said this on Wednesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.

Okoro said the Corps has been reinforced to face the tasks ahead during the yuletide.

“This command has rejigged its personnel to ensure safety of lives and critical infrastructures,” he said.

He further assured that all the dark spots in the state would be monitored effectively.

Okoro stressed that the corps would not condone any nefarious activities of street urchins to jeopardise peaceful coexistence in the state.

Okoro, however, appealed to residents to hint at the command of any criminal activities in their neighbourhood.

“NSCDC would protect the identity of the residents who avail the corps of useful information on the nefarious activities of criminals.

“This cooperation will enhance the efficient monitoring of the state,” he added.
