NPFL Match Day 4: Plateau United Go Top, MFM Defeat FC IfeanyiUbah

Plateau United are the new leaders of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), following a 3-0 win at home over El-Kanemi Warriors on Wednesday.

Jimmy Ambrose opened scoring at the New Jos Stadium as early as the second minute, while Joshua Obaje doubled their advantage six minutes later.

Raphael Ayagwa netted the third of the game two minutes after the break.

The champions now have nine points from four games, same points as second-placed Akwa United but with a superior goal difference.

Akwa United won 2-1 at Niger Tornadoes and Lobi suffered their first defeat of the season going down 1-0 against Yobe Desert Stars.

Enugu Rangers secured their second victory of this season, with a narrow 1-0 win over Katsina United, MFM beat FC IfeanyiUbah 2-1 and Abia Warriors lost 2-1 at Kano Pillars.

Two late goals by Yahuza Bala and Joseph Sasere helped Sunshine Stars beat Rivers United 2-0 in Akure, Kwara United edged Wikki Tourists 1-0, while the game between Go Round FC and Heartland ended in a 1-1 draw.
