#NotTooYoungToRun: Even the youth don’t trust each other – Kenny Blaq reveals

Nigerian comedian and singer, Kenny Blaq says Nigerian youth do not trust themselves, indicating that young people will not support one of their kind for an elective position.

The entertainer said this on the back of the #NotTooYoungToRun bill that was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari in May.

In an interview with Hip Tv, Blaq said the youth are still searching “for that one person” who will be worthy of backing.

He said: “It’s not like we cannot push somebody but even we, we don’t trust ourselves yet so we are looking for that one person that will represent Nigeria very well but for now, we don’t know yet.

“We are happy about the #NotTooYoungToRun bill but we are still trying to watch and see that person who is doing very well.

“We are still watching, we will try and think of something; we the young boys that are not too young to rule.”

The #NotTooYoungToRun bill sought to reduce the age qualification for the office of the president from 40 to 30 years; state governor from 35 to 30; senate from 35 to 30; house of representatives from 30 to 25; and state house of assembly from 30 to 25.

After the bill was signed into law, it was discovered that one is still required to be 35 and above to be qualified for election as senator and governor.
