Nottingham Forest ready to hijack Amrabat move from Man United
Fiorentina has reportedly come to an agreement on a transfer fee with Premier League club, Nottingham Forest for their prized midfielder, Sofyan Amrabat amidst interest from Manchester United.
The Moroccan player had captured the spotlight with standout performances during the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar.
Throughout the ongoing summer transfer window, speculations have linked Sofyan Amrabat with a move to Manchester United, as the English club aimed to bolster its midfield ranks.
However, negotiations between the Old Trafford outfit and the Italian Serie A side have encountered obstacles due to financial fair play considerations.
Despite Manchester United’s ambitious pursuits, the club has already made significant investments in this transfer window, securing notable signings such as Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund.
Latest reports now reveal that Nottingham Forest has successfully reached an agreement with Fiorentina, settling on a transfer fee of £17 million for the services of Amrabat.
The Italian news outlet Sportitalia has confirmed that Fiorentina has accepted Nottingham Forest’s bid, marking a significant development in the ongoing transfer saga.
However, despite the agreed fee, it has been disclosed that Sofyan Amrabat has turned down the opportunity to move to Nottingham Forest, expressing his reluctance to make the switch to the City Ground.
Adding another layer to the story, renowned transfer market expert Di Marzio has revealed that Manchester United’s attempts to secure a loan deal for Sofyan Amrabat have been rebuffed by Fiorentina, indicating the Premier League giant’s persistence in acquiring the midfielder.
Manchester United, despite making three high-profile signings, has experienced a mixed start to the 2023/2024 Premier League season.
After narrowly clinching a 1-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers, the team managed by Erik ten Hag suffered a decisive 2-0 defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur in their subsequent match. Their recent victory came in a nail biting 3-2 win at Old Trafford against, Nottingham Forest.
