“Nothing to fear about Liverpool job” — Klopp to Arne Slot
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed his thoughts about the rumored name coming to replace him as the club’s head coach at the end of the current campaign.
Speaking to reporters at his pre-match press conference ahead of facing West Ham United in the upcoming premier league fixture, the German sold his potential replacement, Arne Slot the Liverpool job.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss maintains that the job still remains the best in the world with a great team despite current results not going Liverpool’s way.
“This is the best job in the world. Great job, great team.” Jurgen Klopp said.
On his verdict on the Dutchman, Jurgen Klopp plays coy with his response, insisting he knows nothing at the moment aside what the media reports.
“I didn’t read anything but I was told Arne said something. I’m not involved in the process. I like the way his team plays football. I don’t know him yet. Good coach, good guy. If he’s the man, I am more than happy. I’m not the one to judge.” the outgoing manager said.
On slipping up from title contention, Jurgen Klopp insists it is now a 2-horse race between Manchester City and Arsenal.
According to the former Mainz boss, this relieves the pressure to allow him enjoy the football his team plays again.
“We are not playing positive football. I blame myself. I will try everything so I can to enjoy our football again. I’m sure Arsenal and City now see it as a 2-horse race.”
