“He’s not your typical striker,” Lewandowski remarked. “He’s brilliant with his back to goal, holding up play, and creating opportunities for his wingers. He’s got that special ability to bring others into the game.”
The Polish star, who played alongside Zirkzee during their Bayern days, also emphasized the forward’s finishing prowess, adding,
“He’s young, but he’s got the physicality and technique to succeed. He just needs time to adapt to the immense pressure that comes with playing for a club like Manchester United.”
Zirkzee’s struggles have been amplified by United’s own woes this season, with the team languishing in 13th place in the Premier League. Lewandowski noted this, saying:
“This was probably the worst time to join United. The club’s form isn’t great, and the expectations can be crushing. But if used correctly, he’s a player who can really make a difference.”
While the rumour mill churns, Lewandowski maintains there is an untapped potential in Joshua Zirkzee.
