Nollywood actor, Leo Mezie confirmed dead

Popular Nollywood actor and television personality, Leo Mezie has been confirmed dead after several battles with Kidney disease.

The actor, Leo Mezie’s death was confirmed on Saturday, May 14, after reports of having a kidney transplant.

Reports have it that he had a transplant last week which developed complications that resulted in his demise.

His colleague, Chioma Toplis announced his death on her Instagram page today, May 16.

Sharing a picture of the late actor, she wrote.

Actor Leo Mezie is dead. He died on Saturday in Abuja while recovering from kidney transplant. His corpse has been moved to Umuahia his hometown. RIP Leo.”

Actor Leo Mezie, in 2010 was happily married to his wife Maureen, they don’t have any children.

Leo Mezie started his acting career in 1996 when he joined Nollywood, the Nigerian movie enterprise, and commenced attending movie auditions and performing as a minor character in movement footage. In 2003, he rose to stardom after performing in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Labista” alongside Emma Ehummadu, Jerry Amilo and Ernest Asuzu.

He also has acted alongside completely different prime Nollywood actors and actresses, paying homage to Jerry Williams, Emma Ehummadu, Jerry Amilo, Ernest Asuzu, Delicate Jack, Zack Orji, Chidi Mokeme, amongst others
