Nollywood actor Francis Duru loses Son

A heartbreaking news from within the spheres of the Nigerian entertainment industry as Nollywood veteran, Francis Duru confirms the demise of son, Ifeanyi Duru.

Taking to social media, the veteran actor grieves the loss of his beloved son, Ifeanyi, who passed away recently. The heart-wrenching news was shared by Duru via his Instagram page today, August 8, where he penned a touching tribute to his “champ” and “lion.”

In his emotional post, Duru wrote, “My champ!! My lion…you fought like a lion…if this is the way He wants it, so be it, I still judge you faithful…Ifeanyi my champ…I will miss you, son…I will forever love you…Rest in peace, son…rest…I give you thanks, Lord!”

Duru’s words reflect the deep pain of a father who witnessed his son fight valiantly. As the Nollywood community and fans rally around him, Duru’s message resonates with the enduring strength of love and faith even in the face of unimaginable loss.

Francis Duru is most famous for starring in the award winning Nollywood film, “Sins of the Flesh”. He most recently made a film appearance in the “Merry Men” film series, playing a police officer.

The Nigerian film industry this year has seen some devastating demise of its stars, and the demise of close families members of some of Nigerian veteran actors such as the death of Kate Henshaw’s mother in the early phase of the year. Just recently, the entertainment scene was  reeling from the death of Nigerian icon, Onyeka Onwenu who reportedly collapsed after performing on stage.
