Nobody has been this successful in my family – Crayon

Mavins record signee, Charles Chibueze Chukwu, popularly known as Crayon, has shared his journey from grass to grace.

In an Instagram post, the singer expressed gratitude to God for raising him to become the first millionaire in his family, breaking a generational curse.

Crayon’s story is one of resilience and determination.

Before his debut in the music industry, he attempted the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) four times but gave up on the fifth attempt to pursue his music career.

His family, consisting of seven members, shared a one-room apartment.

However, his life changed after meeting Mavins record producer, Babyfresh, who introduced him to Don Jazzy.

He was later signed to Mavins record and has since carved a unique path with some of his hit songs.

“I’m a living testimony of God. I’m the first star in my family. Both from my mum’s and dad’s. Generations, before me, nobody has been this successful in my family.

“I’m the first millionaire in my family. God raised me to break that generational curse”, he wrote.
