No Senators receive Palliatives from FG – Sen Abbas debunks rumors

Reports that the federal government provided senators with food and cash to distribute to their constituents have been denied.

Iya Abbas, the Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, refuted the report.

During an interview with journalists in Yola on Monday, the Senator refuted the reports.

He claims that the foodstuffs and cash gifts he distributed during the recent Christmas and New Year’s celebrations were purchased with his money.

“As I speak to you, nobody gave me money or rice to share as palliatives to our constituents. It was a concocted fabrication aimed at tarnishing our image.

“If it is true, let the contractor bring the invoice for each Senator,” he said.

Stressing that the reports are baseless, the senator challenged those spreading the ‘news’ to come forward with the evidence.
