No One Can Doubt It—Pep Guardiola on Messi
If there is a more pro-Lionel Messi manager, it cannot go any further than a coach who was once privileged to have coached the player at club level, which is the person of former Barcelona manager, Pep Guardiola.
In fact, if the Spaniard had his way, any narratives pitting other football stars with Lionel Messi would be cast aside for reasons which he considers sentimental from what is.
Pep Guardiola, who is the current manager of Manchester City, has referred to Lionel Messi as the greatest player in history, ideally shortened by the abbreviation (G.O.A.T).
Messi after the world cup win against France is now ranked higher than Diego Maradona, Di Stefano, and Pele by Pep Guardiola, who had great success with him at Barcelona.
He claims that people who pick Maradona, Di Stefano, and Pele do so with “sentimental” viewpoints that are usually far from the reality of things.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Guardiola said:
“Everyone has an opinion but nobody can doubt he’s the greatest of all time.
“For me, he’s the best, difficult to understand a player can compete with what he’s done. The people who saw Pele or Di Stefano or Maradona, the opinions are sentimental, but [on] the other side, if he [hadn’t] won the World Cup, the opinion and my opinion wouldn’t change.”
