NIPR appoints Rasheed Bolarinwa as financehub chairman

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has appointed Rasheed Bolarinwa, President of the Association of Communication and Marketing Professionals in Banks (ACAMB), as Chairman of its newly established Management Committee of FinanceHub.

The appointment was announced by the NIPR Governing Council as part of efforts to enhance sustainable public relations practices in the finance sector, which includes banking, insurance, and pensions.

Bolarinwa, who also serves as Head of Brand Management and Corporate Communication at Polaris Bank, brings extensive experience in journalism, public relations, and the financial sector to his new role.

The FinanceHub is one of several sectoral hubs created by the NIPR to promote effective PR practices across different industries.

Other notable appointments include Mrs. Thelma Okoh as Chair of the Maritime Hub, Dr. Jossy Nkwocha for the Energy Hub, and Mr. Basil Agboarumi for the Aviation Hub. The appointments were formalized through nomination letters signed by Uzoma Onyegbadue, the Registrar/Secretary to the NIPR Governing Council.

At the inauguration, NIPR National President Dr. Ike Neliaku praised the appointees for their expertise and commitment, expressing confidence in their ability to contribute to the growth of public relations in their respective sectors.

“Your appointment’s are considered well thought out. It reflects the trust and confidence the NIPR council places in your expertise, commitment and dedication towards contributing to achieving the objectives of the Hub,” he said.

Dr. Neliaku also reaffirmed the council’s support for the new sectoral hubs, emphasizing their role in fostering sustainable PR practices in Nigeria.

“We look forward, with excitement, to working together with you all to make a positive impact on sustainable and viable public relations practices in the respective sectoral hubs in Nigeria.”
