NiMet predicts dust haze, rains across Nigeria

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecasted thunderstorms and rains across various country regions from Monday to Wednesday. The weather outlook, released on Sunday in Abuja, highlights the expected weather patterns.

Monday Forecast:

Morning: Thunderstorms are expected in Kebbi, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara, Taraba, and Kaduna states.
Later in the Day: Thunderstorms will affect Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Gombe, Borno, Yobe, and Jigawa states.
North Central: Rains are anticipated in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kwara, and Niger states in the morning, with thunderstorms and rains expected later in the day in the FCT, Plateau, Nasarawa, Niger, Kogi, and Benue states.
Southern Region: Morning rains are forecasted in Lagos, Ondo, Ebonyi, Edo, Imo, Abia, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states. Thunderstorms and intermittent rains are expected later in the day across the entire southern region.

Tuesday Forecast:

Morning: Partly cloudy conditions will prevail in the northern region.
Afternoon/Evening: Thunderstorms are expected in Gombe, Bauchi, Borno, Jigawa, Yobe, Taraba, Adamawa, Katsina, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Kano, and Kaduna.
North Central: Cloudy conditions in the morning, with afternoon/evening thunderstorms in the FCT, Nasarawa, Kogi, Plateau, Niger, and Benue states.
Southern Region: Morning rains in Enugu, Abia, Imo, Edo, Ondo, Ogun, Lagos, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River states. Thunderstorms and intermittent rains are expected in the afternoon/evening.

Wednesday Forecast:

Morning: Thunderstorms are expected in Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, Kano, and Zamfara states.
Later in the Day: Thunderstorms in Jigawa, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba, and Borno states.
North Central: Partly cloudy in the morning with thunderstorms anticipated later in the day in the FCT, Plateau, and Nasarawa states.
Southern Region: Cloudy morning with thunderstorms and intermittent rains expected in the afternoon/evening.

NiMet has advised the public to take necessary precautions as strong winds may precede rain in areas with likely thunderstorms.
