The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued its weather outlook, predicting a mix of thunderstorms and sunshine across the country.

In the northern region, NiMet expects clear skies throughout Friday, with isolated thunderstorms likely over parts of Kebbi, Zamfara, and Kaduna states in the afternoon and evening.

Moving to the North Central region, sunny skies are forecasted in the morning, followed by isolated thunderstorms later in the day over areas including Niger, the Federal Capital Territory, Kogi, and Kwara states.

Heading south, cloudy conditions with intervals of sunshine are anticipated, particularly along the coast.

Isolated thunderstorms are expected in the morning over regions such as Lagos, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom. Later in the day, more isolated thunderstorms are forecasted over several states including Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Rivers, and Bayelsa.

Looking ahead to Saturday, NiMet predicts sunny skies over parts of the North West and North East in the morning, with isolated thunderstorms expected later in the day.

The North Central region may see similar weather patterns, with sunny skies transitioning to thunderstorms. In the southern region, cloudy conditions with spells of sunshine are expected, followed by isolated thunderstorms over various states.

On Sunday, NiMet forecasts continued sunny weather in the north, while the central region may experience morning sunshine giving way to thunderstorms later.

In the south, a mix of cloudy conditions and sunshine is anticipated, with isolated thunderstorms likely later in the day.

NiMet advises the public to take necessary precautions, especially in areas prone to thunderstorms. Airline operators are urged to stay updated with weather reports for effective planning.
