Nigerians will beg Tinubu to contest for second term – Betta Edu

Betta Edu, the national women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed her belief that Nigerians will implore President-Elect Bola Tinubu to run for a second term after his initial four-year tenure.

Edu emphasized that Tinubu is prepared to swiftly commence his duties upon assuming office, and he intends to address the shortcomings of the outgoing administration led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

During an interview on Channels Television, Edu highlighted that Tinubu is determined to “hit the ground running” and immediately embark on the task of governance.

She further disclosed that the President-Elect has devised a comprehensive set of programs that will be implemented within his first 60 days in office.

Edu’s remarks reflect the growing anticipation surrounding Tinubu’s presidency and the expectations for his administration to address the challenges facing the nation.

As a prominent figure within the APC, Edu’s endorsement of Tinubu’s capabilities and her projection of his potential re-election signify the party’s confidence in his leadership.

She said;

“I bet on anything, Nigerians will plead with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, four years down the line, for a second term.

“The first point we must understand is that Nigeria is a work in progress. If you listen to the speech of President Muhammadu Buhari today at the state banquet hall, he stated very clearly that he has fought a good fight.

“He said he is handing over Nigeria to someone who he believes will continue from where he stops and do better.

“If you know Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, he is a deep thinker and doer. One who is very strong in terms of analysing and strategising,” she added.

“I can boldly tell you for free that the next 60 days have clearly been spelt out by Tinubu — what he hopes to do, what he hopes to achieve, at what point and where.

“He fully understands the task ahead of him. He is fully prepared. He wants to hit the ground running.”
