Nigerians turn on Pastor Adeboye over Israel-Palestine video
“We have serious issues in Nigeria you should be preaching about,” Nigerians tell popular clergyman, Pastor Enoch Adeboye in reaction to his social media video that sees the pastor take on Israel’s side in the conflict with Palestine.
Social media platforms went abuzz with criticism from Nigerians directed at Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, who stands a Senior representative of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, after he publicly expressed his sympathy for Israel during its ongoing conflict with the Hamas terrorist group in the Gaza Strip, Palestine.
In a video lasting one minute and thirty-six seconds, Pastor Adeboye can be seen praying for Israel and conveying his support to the nation. He shared the video on a social media platform with the following caption:
“Hello, my beloved brothers in Israel, I want you to know that we are praying for you, that all members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God all over the world are standing by you at this critical moment.
“The Almighty God, the Holy One of Israel, will give you absolute victory and give you permanent peace from now on in the mighty name of Jesus.”
The clergyman’s message of solidarity with Israel sparked backlash from many Nigerians who have accused him of neglecting to address crises within Nigeria while publicly speaking on international affairs.
His critics argue that Adeboye’s message of support for Israel underscores a perceived lack of attention to the various challenges and crises affecting his home country.
