Nigerian Woman residing in Gambia Commits Suicide

A Nigerian woman residing in Gambia has reportedly committed suicide.

The woman identified simply as Sandra, is believed to have committed the act with the use of the deadly insecticide known as sniper.

It came by Topnaija that the incident occurred in Bakoteh in the Kanifing Municipality at about 10:am on Tuesday, June 7.

The circumstances leading to her suicide cannot be ascertained yet as security operatives continue with investigations.

A source close to the incident confirmed the development to press, revealing the lady was pronounced dead at a health centre.

“I heard she had some mental depression. The boyfriend bought her a ticket to fly back to Nigeria. When the boyfriend was a way to get her a medical report for her travel, she drank the sniper.”  the source said.

The shopkeeper, who had reportedly sold the insecticide to the deceased was said to have been arrested by the police.
