Nigerian Superstar Singer Asa Is 35 Today!

Arguably the most internationally acclaimed Nigerian songstress of her generation, soul singer Asa is 35 today.

Born Bukola Elemide in Paris, France on 17 September 1983; Asa grew up in Lagos Island where she discovered traditional Yoruba music. She would later return to France and develop her skills at the IMFP school of Jazz Music.

After her debut album Asa in 2007, she’s gone on to release two more studio albums- Beautiful Imperfection (2010) and Bed of Stone (2014).

Asa is regarded as one of most gifted musicians to come out of the African continent.
