Nigerian Singer Shallipopi Arrested by EFCC after Music Show in Kaduna
Fast-rising Nigerian singer Crown Uzama, widely known as Shallipopi, has reportedly been apprehended by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The artiste’s younger brother, Zerry, disclosed this in a message sent to popular blogger GossipMill.
According to Zerry, Shallipopi and his manager were arrested during a raid on a hotel where they were lodging after a music show in Kaduna state.
EFCC operatives allegedly confiscated the “Elon Musk” hit maker’s phone and other personal belongings during the operation.
Zerry expressed concern and called upon well-meaning Nigerians to assist in securing his elder brother’s release, as Shallipopi has purportedly been in the custody of the anti-graft agency for several days.
He further revealed that the authorities had denied Shallipopi the opportunity to communicate with his family or contact his legal representative.
