1. The Federal High Court in Abuja, Tuesday afternoon, ordered that the missing leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, be separately tried from the rest of his co-defendants.

Justice Binta Nyako made the order following an oral application by the lead prosecuting counsel, Mr. Shuaibu Labaran, who noted that Kanu’s continued absence from court since he was granted bail in April 2017, “has frustrated progress in the case.”

2. Forty-nine passengers on Tuesday escaped death by the whiskers, after a Dana Air plane overshot the runway of the Port Harcourt Airport.

Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said the Dana aircraft flight 9J0363, flying from Abuja to Port Harcourt airport, overshot the Port Harcourt runway but all passengers were evacuated unhurt.

3. President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday said Nigeria will win the war against corruption if citizens join hands to fight the challenge.

He said it was encouraging that a State Government on its own, ventures into the subject matter of fighting Corruption deliberately, as well as transparently subjects its methods to the whole nation for detailed discussion.

4. The leader of insurgent group Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, has again reportedly escaped from being captured by men of the Nigerian Army.

According to the BBC, Shekau escaped from his hideout inside the Sambisa Forest, leaving behind some of his clothing, chewing stick and a pistol.

5. The police have arrested principal suspects in the unpredictable killings in Benue State.

The four principal suspects were arrested in Tunga town of Nasarawa State between 16 and 19th February 2018 by Intelligence Response Team of the Force.

6. The Senate has condemned the demolition of the building used by a faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State by the El-Rufai government.

The chamber asked Governor Nasir el-Rufai to either provide a replacement for the secretariat or compensate Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi (Kaduna-North) who was said to own the building.

7. The Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie has reacted to report claiming that President Muhammadu Buhari’s only son, Yusuf, is dead.

Onochie, while reacting to news of Yusuf’s death, urged Nigerians to disregard the report in entirety.

8. The Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in Abia, has been sealed, following an order of an Umuahia High Court over failure to remit tax deductions from members of the university staff.

The order, which was signed by Justice Kelvin Wosu, was obtained by the state Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) over the non-remittance of N120,751,998 tax by the management of the institution.

9. The Nigerian Army has officially flagged off the Operation Cat Race (Ayem Akpatuma) in Benue State.

Launching the exercise on Tuesday, the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai, said be exercise would flush out criminal elements from Benue and its environs and as well exercise would bring under control endless herders/farmers crisis and other security challenges.

10. The Taraba State Government has temporarily suspended the Anti-Open Grazing law in the state.

The decision came after three days of interactive sessions between the National Economic Council Technical sub Committee on ending herders/farmers’ crisis, and key stakeholders in the state.
