1. The Northern Elders Forum (NEF), has slammed Former President Olusegun Obasanjo for condemning the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government despite his failures as president of Nigeria.

The Spokesperson of the NEF, Prof Ango Abdullahi described Obasanjo’s recent statement on Buhari and his criticism of the All progressives Congress government as a shame to the ex-president who once sought third term, yet parading himself as ‘holy father’ of Nigeria.

2. Lt. General Tukur Buratai, Army Chief of Staff, Friday, said that the Nigerian Army would soon deploy personnel to various parts of the country to contend ongoing threat to security in the country.

He said the Operation Python Dance III in the South East, Operation Crocodile Smile III in the Niger Delta and South West and Harbin Kunama III in the North will commence again to contend cattle rustling in that part of the country.

3. The National President, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo (Lamido Fulbe) has revealed that politicians are the ones buying arms for Fulani herdsmen.

Bodejo said that what was happening in various parts of the country as regarding the killings and destruction of properties have been politicized.

4. Fulani kidnappers operating in Nasarawa and other nearby states have ambushed a team of police operatives from the Intelligence Response Squad, killing one of the operatives Friday, in Toto Local Government Area of the state.

The police team ran into an ambush by the suspected Fulani kidnappers, who had pinned down in the bush waiting to kidnap a white foreign national.

5. The remains of Alex Ekwueme, Nigeria’s Vice President were yesterday laid to rest in his country home, Oko kingdom in Anambra State. The burial was attended by prominent Nigerians, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Bola Tinubu, Rochas Okorocha, Willie Obiano and others.

6. Adams Oshiomhole, former governor of Edo state, has avowed his unending support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid, come 2019.

The ex-governor said this in reaction to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s statement, advising Buhari not to seek re-election.

7. Former Member of the House of Representatives, Patrick Obahiagbon, has said President Muhammadu Buhari deserves a second term.

Obahiagbon, who appeared as a guest on Channels Television Programme, Politics Today, however, pointed out that the APC administration has not achieved all it promised.

8. Twenty-two political parties, under the umbrella of Committee of Concerned Political Parties (CCPP) have constituted six committees for the 2019 general election.

Interim Chairman of CCPP, Dr Onwubuya Breakforth, the National Chairman of Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), told newsmen in Abuja that the group was concerned about boiling national issues, including killings by herdsmen and restructuring.

9. Benue State Police Command, on Friday said it w\s interrogating the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Gboko A Division over the killing of seven persons suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.

The State’s Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni also disclosed that some persons had been arrested in connection with the killings.

10. Shehu Sani, the senator representing Kaduna central has taken a swipe at the presidency’s statement berating the Nigerian media over hate speeches.
