Nigeiran lady starts solo trip from London to Lagos by car [Video]

A dedicated UK-based Nigerian woman has taken up the task to begin a journey from London to Lagos by car.

The young lady, identified as Pelumi Nubi, who apparently is a content creator in the travel niche took to her Instagram page to announce the milestone journey to her followers and the public at large.

According to her, the journey which is a two-month solo trip will start on Tuesday, 30, January 2024 in a car.

The UK-based Nigerian blogger also revealed that before she began the trip, she interacted with people who have “tackled similar adventures”.

Nubi said she realised “no black woman has made this journey before”. She also expressed excitement to be embarking on the trip, notwithstanding the outcome.
“London to Lagos solo road trip 🚗 🌍✨. Hey, everyone! I’ve got a crazy idea that I’m actually turning into reality – I’m driving solo from London to Lagos Starting 30th January 2024,” she wrote.

“For months, I’ve been chatting with folks who’ve tackled similar adventures. As far as I know, no black woman has made this journey before. But hey, this isn’t about breaking records. It’s about showing the world that “impossible” is just a word, especially when you’ve got enough grit and determination. I can’t fully describe my emotions right now but I am just so excited to finally put it out there -no matter the outcome!”

Nubi is taking the journey in a Peugeot 107. The vehicle has been modified to include features that provide ample space for sleeping and dining.

On the journey, the Nigerian lady will travel through 17 countries, starting from England and continuing through France, Spain, and Morocco.

Nubi will then travel across the West Sahara Desert, Mauritania, Senegal, and Gambia. Her journey will take her through Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, and Benin, before reaching Lagos.

This adventure comes nearly two years after one Kunle Adeyanju, a Nigerian tourist, rode a bike from London to Lagos.
