Nigerian Coach Predicts Champions League Quarter Final Team

On Monday in the afternoon, the draw for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 took place providing a view into whichever team will progress into the quarter final.

According to our reports and even earlier forecasts, the defending champions Real Madrid and Premier League powerhouse Liverpool will square off in a rematch of the championship game from the previous year.

Manchester City, the Premier League champion, will play RB Leipzig, while Tottenham Hotspur will take on Serie A winner AC Milan.

Club Brugge will play Benfica, while Frankfurt will play Napoli.

Borussia Dortmund will take against Chelsea, and FC Porto and Inter Milan have been placed together.

Paris Saint-Germain, the Ligue 1 champion from France, will play Bayern Munich.

The first and second legs of the round of 16 of the Champions League are set for 14/15/21/22 and 7/8/14/15 March, respectively.

However, Abubakar Ibrahim, the head coach of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FC, chose the groups of teams that should advance from the Champions League round of 16 to the quarter final round in an interview with the Daily Post.

Ibrahim also acknowledged that this season’s Champions League is more competitive than the previous one.

“The UEFA Champions League this season is tougher than last year because all the clubs in the group stages did very well this season this time around,

“They all played very good football compared to last season.

“However, this time around, following the Champions League round of 16 draws, there are some strong teams that should advance to the next stage [quarter-final] due to their outstanding performances in the group stage.

“The likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Napoli, Porto, Tottenham Hotspur and Benfica,” he predicted.
