Nigeria mourns again, ex-presidential candidate, Bashir Tofa is dead
The Presidential Candidate of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC), Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa, a Kanuri Muslim who hailed from Kano State and was the main opposition to Late MKO Abiola in the controversial June 12, 1993, presidential election is dead.
Gathered information revealed family sources disclosed he died in the early hours of Monday after an illness.
Confirming his death, one of the deceased’s relations, Alhaji Muhammad, said “Alhaji Bashir Tofa died after being admitted in hospital for some time.”
This is coming after the shocking report of the demise of the Olubadan on Sunday.
