Nigeria is drowning under Tinubu – Atiku spills
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has expressed his worries concerning the security situation in the country. He also went ahead to criticize the Tinubu-led administration for failing to secure lives and properties.
Atiku Abubakar, who happens to be the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), urged the President to sit up and handle the recurrent kidnappings across the nation or step aside if he is unable to do his job properly.
According to him, despite rising cases of kidnappings, the President could muster the courage and left the country on a private to France.
Taking to his X account on Tuesday, Atiku stated that the country does not need another “Tourist-in-Chief”.
TopNaija understands that the President, Tinubu, went on a trip to Paris, France last Wednesday, for a private visit and is expected to return to Nigeria in February.
A statement by the President’s special adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, read; “President Tinubu travels to France. He will return to the country in the first week of February 2024.”
Since he assumed office eight months ago, President Tinubu has traveled to France for various reasons, a total of three times.
Reacting to the visit and spate of kidnappings across the country, Atiku said the people need an active leader to confront insecurity.
He wrote; “Tinubu is playing fiddle while Nigeria is drowning in the ocean of insecurity. To imagine that the Commander-in-Chief is on a so-called private visit while kidnappers kill a nursing mother and grandmother in Abuja for failing to pay N90m ransom and two monarchs in Ekiti, among other regular tragedies besetting Nigerians.
“If the shoes are too big for Emilokan, he should step aside. Nigeria does not need another Tourist-in-Chief. The country needs 24/7 leadership to confront the pervasive insecurity and collapsing economy”.
