Nigeria confirms 23 fresh cases of COVID-19 as tolls hits 174

Nigeria has confirmed 23 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 174, TopNaija.ng reports.

 

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control revealed this on Wednesday via its Twitter handle.

It tweeted, “Twenty three new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Nigeria – Nine in Lagos, seven in the FCT, five in Akwa Ibom, one in Kaduna and one in Bauchi State.

“As of 08:00 pm on 1st of April, there are 174 confirmed cases of #COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. Nine have been discharged with two deaths.”

 

Meanwhile, Akwa Ibom State has recorded its first five cases of deadly coronavirus, becoming the 13th state to have the infection in Nigeria.

According to the NCDC, “Twenty three new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Nigeria – Nine in Lagos, seven in the FCT, five in Akwa Ibom, one in Kaduna and one in Bauchi State.

 

“Currently, Lagos has 91 cases, FCT- 35, Osun- 14, Oyo- eight, Ogun- four, Edo- four, Kaduna- four, Bauchi- three, Enugu- two, Ekiti- two, Rivers- one, Benue- one and Akwa Ibom – fiv
