Niger secures release of kidnapped transit passengers
The Niger State Government has said that it has secured the release of all the passengers abducted from the Niger State Transit Authority bus.
This was confirmed on Twitter by the Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello,
“The Niger State Government has succeeded in securing the release of all Abducted #RescueNSTAPassengers. Details shortly,” he tweeted.
A criminal group had on Tuesday released a video showing the travelers they abducted on a highway in Niger State begging the state government to facilitate their release.
The criminals are reportedly demanding N500 million to release the victims. The gunmen ambushed the commuters who were returning from a wedding in Rijau Local Government Area of the state.
