NFF Keeps Picking The Wrong People Over Again—Amokachi

If anyone is left frustrated by the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) repeated errors, it is former Nigeria international, Daniel Amokachi as the former striker vents over the organizations inability to learn from past mistakes.

The mistakes he notes have repeatedly cost the Super Eagles glory on the pitch side with the team failing in countless times to bring glory and joy to supporters of the team despite availability of talents within the country.

According to former Nigerian striker Daniel Amokachi, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has chosen the wrong players and coaches while selecting the national side.

This was said by Amokachi in an interview that aired on Channels Television on Sunday.

He was responding to the Eagles’ embarrassing 4-0 loss to Portugal in a recent international friendly.

Amokachi argued that Jose Peseiro, the current head coach, should receive assistance wherever he needs it and that it is too soon to let him go.

“When you look at the Portugal game, that tells you that we don’t even deserve to be there (World Cup).

“There are one, two, three different angles that you have to look at it, bringing in the right coach, bringing in the right players and getting the right environment to play.

“We always bring the wrong coaches to handle a country like Nigeria; we always bring the wrong players,” Amokachi said.

Daniel Amokachi has always been an advocate for Nigeria bringing into its employ grass root players into the country’s national team set up of the Super Eagles as well as an indigenous coach as opposed to foreign based coaches who do not maintain same devotion the home based coach would for the National team.

Nigeria’s football federation (NFF) has repeatedly been handed its criticisms with same problems being complained about time and again.
