Neymar shows off wealth as he buys AFCON Final ball

Talk about making headlines, no one beats Brazil and Paris Saint Germain star, Neymar.

Neymar recently became the owner of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations ball used for the Final between Egypt and Senegal after paying €160,000 at an auction that was organized by teammate Idrissa Gueye in Paris.

The Brazilian was the highest bidder for the ball used in the February 6 event in Cameroon when Senegal beat Egypt on post-match penalties to win their very first AFCON title.

The ceremony featured in featured in attendance Kylian Mbappe amongst many PSG players who came to support Gueye’s move to help children in Africa, as proceeds from the auction goes to offering care for children living with HIV and cancer within the continent.

There were autographed jerseys of PSG stars like goalkeeper, Kaylor Navas, midfielder Marco Verratti and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema which went on sale.

The ball itself had been an attraction given it contained signatures the Senegal players that were part of the squad that defeated Egypt 4-2 on penalties.

Neymar himself is a strong champion of charitable causes as he donates anonymously to charitable foundations in noble causes. He also runs his own charity foundation called the Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr in Sao Paulo which supports children from poor backgrounds.
