Man killed by best man in Niger State

Operatives of Minna Police command have arrested 25 year-old Bashir Ibrahim, for stabbing his friend to death over N2 million.

The deceased businessman was invited by the suspect to Tudun Fulani area of Minna, about two weeks ago for a business transaction.

On his arrival to the venue, Bashir stabbed him to death and made away with the victim’s Peugeot 206 vehicle with about N2 million inside.

According to reports, Bashir is a bosom friend of the deceased and was his best man during his marriage few months back.

Public Relations Officer of the Niger State Police, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said the Bosso Police Post have arrested Bashir and his cohort, Aliyu Ibrahim.

Wasiu stated that, “During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime that they conspired with one Suleiman Mahmud, 29, of same address presently at large to tie the victim and dispossessed him of the money in his car.

“On entering the house, the deceased was said to have struggled with the said Suleiman, thereby making it difficult to dispossess him of the money and Aliyu had to stab the victim on the chest and was abandoned till he bled to death.”

He promised that Suleiman Mahmud and all other suspects involved in the evil act will soon be apprehended.
