Newly-elected candidate dies few days to swearing-in 

The newly appointed Chairman, Caretaker Management Committee of Karasuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, Hon. Lawan Gana, is dead.

Gana reportedly passed away on Thursday at Federal Medical Centre, Nguru, after a brief illness.

Before his demise, the deceased was among the 17 LG Chairmen Caretaker Management Committees billed to be sworn in on Friday by Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Gana was a member of the Yobe State House of Assembly between 2003 and 2007 where he represented the Karasuwa Local Government on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).

He was also a deputy gubernatorial candidate of the party in 2015 before he defected to the All Progressives Congress in 2019.

One of his closed associates, Hon. Ado Adamu Bomboy, described Gana as a humble, honest, unassuming, humorous, practical and pragmatic leader that cannot be easily forgotten.
