Newcastle United taking on Tottenham Hotspur in the premier league didn’t feel like the game fans wanted to see, specifically when it comes to a game featuring 2 teams challenging for a place in the top 4 should be felt. Newcastle took the game like what it was, a sport that should be feared as they mauled through Tottenham like it was some Sunday league sport.

The Magpies raided on Spurs in a 6-1 triumph that shows how farther behind Tottenham is and should be when it comes to challenging for a place in Europe.

As if former manager, Antonio Conte’s words about the club and the team was an understatement, the Magpies struck at Spurs 5-0 within the first 21 minutes of play, with goals already flooding in starting from kick-off.

Jacob Murphy placed Newcastle in the lead within the 2nd minute of kick-off, with goals chasing at Tottenham minutes after from Joelinton and Alexander Isak who netted a brace together with Murphy.

Spurs hoped for something of a comeback when star forward, Harry Kane pulled one goal back for the team but the Magpies maintained their resilience to hold on to their advantage with new signing, Callum Wilson restoring the team’s 5 goal advantage with a second half strike to worsen the night for a top 4 chasing Tottenham.

Newcastle’s story this season started as the classic tale of the underdogs going up against the big teams, but a result like this against a one-time Champions League finalist, shows how Tottenham has fallen on tougher grounds or how much this Magpie side should be dreaded moving forward.

The premier league has a new kid in town and it is Newcastle United, and the rest of the league should be scared including the so-called big sides in the league. A wake up call for the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Things aren’t the way it once was, and if none is careful going forward, they may see their spot in the big league taken and one of them forever relegated to the background.
