NEMA welcomes 95 stranded Nigerian returnees from Libya
Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA) has received 95 Nigerians who were stranded in Libya.
The Director-General, National Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Ahmed Mustapha, confirmed this in a statement by the South West Coordinator, NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye, on Wednesday.
The statement read, “NEMA has received a total of 95 assisted voluntary Nigerians who were stranded in Libya back to Nigeria. The returnees were brought with the assistance of the International Organisation for Migration.
“They arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, around 8.18 pm on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, onboard Al-Buraq Airline with number UZ189/16/5A- DMG-MJI AD15:50.

“After profiling, the data indicates that 60 men among whom include two with medical cases; 29 women; four teenagers and two infants were brought back. On arrival, the Director General of the NEMA implored the returnees to turn a new leaf by looking inward within the country that has been blessed with an abundance of resources.
“He assured the returnees that the Federal Government and IOM along with other international partners will not disappoint them as well as Nigerians by providing an enabling environment for all to achieve their potentials.”
